In 1950, my grandparents bought this house at 249 N. “L” St in EL Reno. They raised my Dad, Uncle, and Aunt there. Ever since I can remember it has been a part of my life. There is a lifetime of fond memories of Holidays and family get-togethers in this little house on the corner. My Grandpa died in 1994, my Grandma who is 93 lived there until she moved in with my Aunt about 10 or 12 years ago. I lived there for about six months in 2003 and my sister and her family along with my mom have lived there nearly 10 years. It was always comforting to know when I went to EL Reno that house was still a part of my life. However, life goes on and my sister and her family have bought another house in town. “The Keller Family Compound” (as I call it) has been sold and for the first time in 62 years someone else will call it home. I am so glad Emma got to spend some time there the past few years and I know our entire family will miss that place, but at the same time cherish the lifetime of good memories and good times at 249 N. “L” Street! A fond farewell to the corner of Foreman Rd and “L” Street!
